The Ultrasonic Sensor UH05 is an EPC (Edge Position Control) sensor developed for use with transparent film and photosensitive materials. Its installation in a space-saving space has become possible, which was difficult until now, and the designability has been improved so that it fits neatly into a compact machine. It can detect the edge of a web with high accuracy and is not affected by irregularities in the coating near the edge of transparent film and printed patterns. Conventional optical sensors cannot do this. The UH05 Ultrasonic Sensor can be combined with Nireco?s controller to configure an electrical EPC system or an electrohydraulic EPC system. The recess length of the UH05 (the distance from the detection center position to the inner side of the casing) is fixed at 30 mm.

Overview

The Ultrasonic Sensor UH01 / UH01A is designed especially to detect transparent film and photosensitive material in EPC(Edge Position Control)system.

It can detect the edge of a web with high accuracy, not affected by irregularities in the coating near the edge of transparent film and printed patterns, which is conventionally impossible by optical sensors. Combined with Nireco,s controller, an electrical EPC system and electro-hydraulic EPC system can be constructed. The UH01A is a version of our UH01 ultrasonic sensor with a longer internal length(the distance from the sensor center position to the inner side of the casing). Internal lengths of 200mm, 300mm, 400mm and 500mm are available. The internal length of the UH01 is 60mm (fixed).

Line Follower Head LH500 is a sensor that optically detects register lines or patterns printed on a web and, in combination with a controller (*1), can be used to form an EPC (Edge Position Control) and LFC (Line Follower Control) system.

Line Follower Head LH500 stores detected lines as image information, which it uses to perform pattern matching and comparison operations on image information during operation. With this new system, even if register lines and printing accessories are mixed, the stored lines are always tracked.

Application

This is an example of using a combination of LH500 and a Liteguide controller with a slitter machine. The register lines or patterns printed on a web are detected using LH500. Then, so that the line always passes through the reference position, the unwinding reel shifts in the opposite direction from the deviation to cancel out irregularity, stretching, shrinking, uneven thickness, etc., of the web, enabling high accuracy slitting.

Overview

The LH110 can be used on slitting machines as the sensor to optically detect register lines or patterns printed on the web. In combination with an amplifier (Liteguide Controller AE1000, AE900L or Webguide Amplifier EH321A), the LH110 can form an EPC (Edge Position Control) and LFC (Line Follower Control) system.

  • No edge/line changeover required

    When detecting a wide width line or pattern edge, there is no need to switch between the edge and line.

  • Polarity switching not required

    When the gradation of the web material and line, (or that of the left and right edges) is reversed, there is no need to switch control output polarity.

  • Gain readjustment not required

    The change in output voltage for line (edge) deviation is not influenced by line width or color; therefore, once the gain of the controller is set during a trial run, it is not necessary to readjust the gain.

  • Position signal retention function

    During the interval when a line (edge) leaves the view field to when it returns, the position signal generated immediately before the line (edge) leaves the view field is retained and output. Therefore, a follow-up operation can be performed when the meander speed of a web is fast and the line (edge) tends to be out of the view field.

  • LED indication of optimum attachment position of detector

    An LED indicator lights when the focal distance is correct and the mounting interval between the path line and detector are appropriate.

  • Line (edge) position indicated by LED

    Integral action is the standard control operation; however, when used in combination with a position transmitter, the LH110 is capable of proportion action and integral + proportional action. You can choose the best control action for the machine that you are using.

  • An LED indicator lights when the detected edge is at the center of the view field.

    When the device is connected to a controller that has an actuator lock contact input, (in cases of intermittent lines) the actuator is locked when the break in the line is detected and follow-up operation is stopped until the next line appears. Note: The position signal retention function is not available when an actuator lock signal output is used.
